六花咲く丘
Nishina Pass

On a freezing morning in Izu a few days after Risshun*1, the sun shines after a long-awaited snowfall.
Silver crystals bloom on the bright snowy hills, a scene bestowed on us only once a year.
Fascinated by the hexagonal flowers of snow glistening under the morning sun,
I stand alone forever mesmerized.

*1: The first day of spring in the Japanese calendar, usually February 4. The day marks the mid-point between the winter solstice and spring equinox, and occurs during the coldest time of the year.
